Here are some units that I developed to use while student teaching:
Creative Thinking with Dr. Seuss:
I created this unit using inspiration from Dr. Seuss' "Read Across America Day". It includes four of the most popular Dr. Seuss books ( "The Foot Book", "Oh, The Thinks You Can Think", "Hop on Pop" and "The Lorax" ) with cooperative learning activities and projects to go along with each story. This unit inspires children's creativity and gets them thinking in a new way.

This was a great resource for my Legends unit. I especially like resources that are aligned with texts.
Literacy Centers:
These literacy centers include spelling practice, dictionary skills practice, compound word practice and sight word practice.
Language Arts Challenging Creative Writing:
I developed this unit after attending the GT and Special Populations training. This unit is designed to introduce a deeper level of thinking into the classroom I used GT like activities to inspire creative writing and critical thinking.
Challenging MAth Activities:
This unit gets students to think deeply about numbers and challenge their minds by adding originality to math.

I am very excited to use this with my high-leved first grade math students; I think it'll keep them thinking! Thank you :)
Greater than/Less Than/ Equal to Sort:
Created with Debbie Dillers suggestions in mind, this sort helps students become familiar with the greater than/less than/equal to signs, and enhances their addition and subtraction skills. A number is chosen to place in the blank white circle, and every addition/subtraction problem is compared to that number to tell whether the answer is greater than, less than, or equal to the chosen number.

Geometric Shape Activity:
Great team building activity! Students have to work together to re create a model but only one student can SEE the model. The other students have to communicate effectively to find the information they need from the "SEER" in order to rebuild the model that the "seer" sees.

Landform Virtual Field Trip:
A fun way to teach landforms! Students will travel through landforms on a virtual field trip, and will record information that they find into their "landform photo album"
American Symbols Unit:
This unit was used in literacy centers during our study of America. The activities greatly enhanced students knowledge of the symbols and anthems that America holds dear.
Chinese NEw Year Math and Literacy Activities:
This was the very first lesson that I taught as a student teacher. Students learned about the Chinese New Year through math and literacy activities.
